  This coming April, Emerson will host the annual Technology in Action Conference (TAC) meeting. The 2008 event marks a new chapter for Emerson with an expanded group of participants from across Emerson's business groups. Not only will retail attendees get the chance to learn about the latest in refrigeration, energy, and HVAC technologies but attendees will also gain insights into the diverse offerings that Emerson as whole brings to the retail market. New technologies that will be showcased include: power switching technologies, backup power for POS and computer systems, and offerings for foodservice applications. 

The TAC event serves as an opportunity for you to understand how Emerson is addressing recent trends in the retail market that are a challenge for many retail operators. From rising energy costs to sustainable store design, Emerson is prepared to help you meet those challenges and bring new solutions to the industry. Limited to retail participants who are responsible for facility construction, design, operation, and energy conservation in stores, TAC is a special time for you to review leading technologies and interact with peers from other markets that share similar challenges. Beginning on Monday, April 14 and concluding on Wednesday, April 16, Emerson will host a global group of participants from the supermarket, convenience store, box retail, and foodservice industries.

In the past year, we have worked hard to incorporate the ideas and feedback from prior events. After the close of the 2007 event, we established a steering committee that includes representatives from the retail market who have worked closely with me to establish the agenda and list of speakers. With both Emerson and outside speakers, we are certain that this year's event will be both informative and entertaining. With a modified schedule, all attendees will have the opportunity to participate in focus groups and listen in on all of this year's breakouts.
